ermes chip2                                      ERMES FIELD TRIAL & FINAL MEETING
                                                      August 25-29, 2014
                                                           Lannion (FR)

The field trial consists in the experimentation of the ERMES self-tuning transmitter both with standard self-seeded (SS) and amplified self-seeded (ASS) configurations over the city of Lannion (France) fiber rings, which are 18600-m long.

The demo takes place in ImaginLab facilities. The exploited multiplexers were Flat-top AWG with 200-GHz spacing and 4 channels for ASS trials and OTF and 32-channel AWG with 100-GHz spacing for SS trials.

The transmitter employs the O-band A6 packaged RSOA. The transmitters have been successfully tested with GEth and CPRI2 traffics with 1 to 2 loops and various cavity lengths. Moreover BER measurements with various PRBS lengths at 2.5 Gb/s and 10 Gb/s have been performed

Local partners of French collaborative projects on self-seeded have been invited to take part at the ERMES field trial. The ERMES results have been presented to them.
